HOUSTON, TEXAS June 8, 2009 -- Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE: WFT) today announced that Weatherford Laboratories has been awarded the prestigious Perryman Award from the Permian Basin Section of the Society for Sedimentary Geology (PBS-SEPM). The award was given out at the PBS-SEPM annual meeting, held at Midland Center on May 19, 2009. Wayne Helms from Weatherford Laboratories was on hand at the ceremony to receive the award.
The Executive Committee of the PBS-SEPM unanimously granted this award, named in honor of the late Don Perryman whose many years of support and assistance to our society were unparalleled.

The Perryman award is given to companies or institutions that have provided long-term support to PBS-SEPM in their mission to promote the science of geology and disseminate scientific information to the geologic community and general public. Weatherford Labs (through its acquisition of Rotary Labs) has supported PBS-SEPM through volunteerism, donations, and financial support for several years.
